Young people chose their career paths in the NBU programme. Over 6 months, each cohort is provided with the skills and opportunities needed to succeed in either employment or entrepreneurship. In each of these career tracks, they are given access to high-quality learning content. They are linked to coaches, peers, and alumni who help them build the confidence and connections needed to earn a sustainable income and fulfil their potential.
Core Life Skills
Core Life Skills Training laid the crucial foundation for youth seeking the right job. It provided them with essential skills to understand themselves, define career goals aligned with their interests and ambitions, and develop professional skills. Upon completion, participants decided whether to pursue a path to either employment or entrepreneurship.

Employability training
Employability Training supports participants to find and keep decent jobs. It combines the skills of the modern workforce (communication, teamwork, and problem-solving) with basic skills (job search, CV development, and time management) that are essential in a competitive job market. Once hired, young people are well placed to succeed when presented with opportunities for career advancement. Additionally, the program established alumni networks that offered peer coaching to enhance career progression opportunities. |
Coaching
Coaches help participants match their own interests to the local labor market as well as help identify potential employers and internship opportunities. These coaches provide individualized support that young people need to help navigate finding and keeping the right job. |
Internships
Internships allow young people to acquire the workplace experience, business connections, gain experience and increase marketability needed to get a job. Based on their own career interests, participants seek out internships through a local network of supporting companies. coaches work with participants throughout to support career guidance and skill development. |
Job fairs
The NBU Job Fairs matches employers with skilled and ambitious participants. The job fair provides exposure to the types of jobs that are available in growing sectors in thei markets. Job Fairs served as an opportunity for participants to develop networking and communications skills. Matches brokered during the job fairs benefitted both companies and young job-seekers alike. |
Alumni
Young people maintain contact and strengthen connections with other program graduates via facilitated social media groups, online platforms, physical conferences, and networking events. These alumni experiences support continues professional guidance and links to employment or business opportunities. |
Entrepreneurship training
Entrepreneurship training: Entrepreneurship training supports young people to identify promising business opportunities and turn those ideas into reality. This training harness the creativity and innovation that participants can bring to solving both business and social problems. Young entrepreneurs are supported to make a business plan, understand start-up finance, marketing, team leadership, and navigate the challenges of starting and growing their own businesses. Entrepreneurship training is supported by a hardskillls training and startup tools and hard skills training that matches the partcipants business needs . |
Pitch fair
Young entrepreneurs are provided the opportunity to participate in a Pitch Fair to elaborate their buesiness iseas. The goal was to shape their business ideas and to facilitate access to additional support |
Hardskills training
The Hard skills Training supports young people to acquire skills that will help them start or grow their business. Participants are supported to acquire skills in various industies such as Graphic design, fashion, bakery, hairsdressing etc. |

Following a successful completeion of hard skills training. participants are supported with the neccessary tools required to launch or grow their business |
Business advisory service
advising young people with their own business and guiding/coaching them through the challenges they encounter acquiring the neccessary certifications to formalize their enterprises. |

Business incubation

We support youth and women-led startups by providing structured incubation services that help transform ideas into viable, impactful businesses. Our incubation program nurtures innovation, resilience, and sustainability in business ventures through coaching, technical support, and access to resources.
Business networking events

Our business networking events create a vibrant space where young entrepreneurs, innovators, mentors, and investors meet, share ideas, and spark collaborations. These events are specifically designed to promote youth-led and women-led businesses, fostering valuable connections that lead to funding, partnerships, mentorship, and growth.
Green Economy

SOS Children’s Villages Netherlands/Ghana (SOS CV NL/GH) delivered green life skills training to CfW beneficiaries, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to identify and pursue economic opportunities aligned with their skills and interests in the green economy. The programme specifically targeted youth, women, and returning migrants.
Digital Literacy

We believe digital skills are no longer optional—they are essential. Our digital literacy program equips young people with the competencies they need to engage in the modern economy, whether for employment, entrepreneurship, or further learning.
