PROJECTS
The No Business as Usual (NBU) Youth Empowerment Centre has been a driving force for youth development, skills building, and economic empowerment in the Ashanti region. The journey began with the NBU Project (2017–2020), funded by the European Union (EU), which laid the foundation for empowering young people through life skills, employability training, and entrepreneurship support. This was followed by the NBU–Youth Empowerment Centre (NBU–YEC), a continuation of the original project funded by SOS Children’s Villages Netherlands, which expanded the scope and deepened the impact of the centre’s work. Most recently, the centre implemented the Green Project, another EU-funded initiative delivered in partnership with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development. This project combined youth skills training with climate-resilient infrastructure development, creating both employment opportunities and lasting benefits for local communities. Since its inception, the NBU Centre has evolved into a hub of opportunity and innovation, impacting thousands of young people while contributing to stronger communities and more vibrant local economies.
